Welcome and I’m so glad that you are here!  I’m Suzanne Richmond, the founder of Richmond Clothier, thanks for stopping by.  Life is a marathon and I’m right about at mile 13.  Becoming a lawyer was one of my biggest dreams.  It took persistence and hard work to accomplish it, but I got there.  Having my own clothing line, is another big dream of mine.  With the support of my friends and family, I have launched Richmond Clothier. 

I have wanted to start my own clothing line for quite some time.  Life got busy for me and threw a lot at me in a short period of time.  I had three boys in five years.  When I was pregnant with my third son, my mom passed away after a short battle with cancer.  A year later, my marriage ended, I had to move and I became a single mom.  Life got messy and hard.  I kind of accepted that maybe my dream of having a clothing line just wasn’t in the cards for me.  The first Christmas after my mom died, my sister gave me a new sketch book and a set of markers.  I started crying because it was the whisper I needed to keep going, stay the course and keep chasing this dream. 

I continued to sketch, research, and look for manufacturers.  In August of 2021, I launched Richmond Clothier with the Laura Top. 

I want to create ready to wear women’s clothes.  I want a clothing business where all women feel welcome regardless of age or size.  I want sustainable clothes that will withstand the test of time.  I want to have something for everyone. 

The clothes here are my own designs.  I am not ordering them from a wholesaler.  My pieces are high quality and reasonably priced.  When I am working on a new design – I have YOU in mind, the busy American woman.
